I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve been very lucky in love. I’ve also been lucky to find someone willing to put up with being married to a writer, which is not as easy as one would think. I spend a lot of time thinking about plot points for my current and upcoming books and there have been a few characters who have demanded my attention when I’m on a long drive with my husband. I imagine it’s not much fun being around someone who shushes you because they’re busy having a conversation with their current main characters. My husband puts up with it, though. I’m not sure I’d be quite so patient if the situation were reversed!
