Waiting …

Anyone who is pursuing publication will tell you that the waiting times are killer. KILLER.

And then after the waiting is over … you have to wait some more! I’m sitting on some Very Good News that I can’t announce yet, much as I desperately want to. Hopefully that will change soon.

To see you all into the weekend, I thought I’d share a song that never fails to make me happy – “Love’s Great Adventure” by Ultravox. Enjoy!

(That song is particularly appropriate today, which is my 15th wedding anniversary. I love you, Neil! Can’t wait for the next 15 years. <3)

Media Monday – Under Pressure!

One of my all-time favorite songs is “Under Pressure” by Queen and David Bowie. It definitely ranks as a Desert Island song for me. A while back someone on one of the blogs I visit posted a link to a video of a man performing it with two Kermit the Frog puppets. I adore this song and enjoyed the performance very much. I thought this video would be the perfect way to kick off my new Media Monday entries.

Enjoy!

It’s raining men!

I’m sharing this everywhere because I love it that much. :) Get ready for it – a period drama montage set to the song "It’s Raining Men". Enjoy!

Thank you to Smart Bitches, Trashy Books for posting this.

Poppycock, you say?

Confession time – I have a crush on Prince Poppycock.

What can I say? Back when I was a teen in the ’80s, when everyone else was madly in love with various members of Duran Duran or with George Michael (we’re talking his Wham days here), my musician crush was Boy George.

It seems that while I can appreciate an attractive man as much as the next girl (my other celebrity crush is Hugh Jackman), I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for men with larger than life personalities. No jocks here, no matter how handsome. If you want to capture my interest, you have to be interesting. Talent also helps, and Prince Poppycock has talent in spades.

It doesn’t hurt that John Quale is one damn fine looking man and seems to be a genuinely nice person. Tall, dark, handsome … really, what more could a girl want? Well, other than the obvious.

If you haven’t seen Prince Poppycock in action, check out the following videos. I’m showing remarkable restraint here in only linking to two of his appearances on America’s Got Talent. The first showcases his remarkable voice, and the second his remarkable creativity.
